bar & bat mitzvah

Bar/Bat Mitzvah means a son/daughter of the Commandments. This class is open to boys from the ages of 12 and up and girls from the ages of 11 and up. Traditionally a boy becomes a bar mitzvah at the age of 13 and a girl becomes a bat mitzvah at the age of 12. Beit Shofarot invites any of our members of these ages and older who would like to go through the program to do so. It is open to both Jewish and Non-Jewish peoples and is about a year long study.

(All Bar & Bat Mitzvah Candidates study Cantorials as well as Jewish Roots 101 as a requirement prior to graduation!)

Many of our Bar & Bat Mitzvah Graduates and Candidates serve in various ministries.

Autumn K. and Josh L. are Youth Captains. They serve in the oneg, dance, audio/visual, cantorial, or prayer teams. Also, after graduation many choose to help Jamie teach upcoming candidates and love doing it. They have a lot of fun!
